We're thrilled to announce the members of our latest Policy Leadership Cohort.
This group brings together a diverse set of policy practitioners working across the fields of digital justice, trans rights, the open source community, sex workers rights, research, and politics. Over the coming weeks, we will work closely together to share our experience and expertise, and collaboratively deepen our policy practices.
Meet the members:

Ana Ornelas is a pleasure activist, sex educator, and content creator whose work is rooted in advocacy for sexual freedom, digital rights, and accountability in the adult and intimacy industries, and the policy officer for digital rights at the European Sex Workers’ Rights Alliance (ESWA).
Ange Royall-Kayin brings experience leading decentralised operations, foundation governance, and product legal strategy; most recently at Radworks, an ecosystem building censorship-resistant tools for open source developers.
Deekshitha Ganesan is a qualified lawyer from India and manages the policy and advocacy work at Trans Europe and Central Asia (TGEU), a network organisation of trans rights groups across the region.
Kalpana Vogeti is a mother, published author, and Press Officer with the European Pirates. She is driven by curiosity and a deep belief in lifelong learning.
Paola Verhaert is an independent researcher, advisor and writer who works at the intersection of technology and social justice.
Siméon de Brouwer is the policy advisor in charge of the protection of young people online at European Digital Rights (EDRi).
Our co-designed agenda focuses on:
-
Exploring policy approaches and strategies beyond traditional legislative advocacy
-
Navigating the EU policy landscape with confidence, creativity, and safety
-
Understanding and shifting power dynamics in the policy ecosystem, including power sharing with your allies
-
Strengthening narratives for social justice and human rights in a challenging environment of de-regulation, “digital sovereignty”, and AI expansion
In our first sessions, we explored how to build sustainable relationships while maintaining personal integrity and safety, and what it means to lead without having all the answers. We also discussed how to share and shift power in practice.
We are looking forward to the conversations ahead. More soon!
